Optional Cabinet Construction

Lanz’s semi-custom approach allows flexibility in cabinet heights, widths, and depths and does not require modular dimensioning.

SCRIBE AND BASE SHOE

Standard Scribe/Base Shoe

Lanz uses solid hardwood scribe molding in face frame cabinetry for the transition from finished end of the cabinet or filler to the wall. The finish is stained to match the frame of the cabinets. Any gaps due to irregularities in the wall will be covered by the scribe molding.

Decorative Base Shoe

Our optional Base shoe masks any gaps where the cabinet meets the floor. This flexible solid wood molding creates a nice transition from cabinet toe skin to where they meet the flooring.

Premier Base Shoe

If your project is supply only, the finished scribe and base shoe is provided uncut.

FINISHED EXPOSED AREAS

Finished Bottoms at Upper Cabinets

Frameless: All underside cabinet components are white. Lanz can match the underside of upper cabinets with the same material as the doors or exposed finished ends.

Face Frame: The underside of the shelf deck is white and side edge panels are raw. Lanz can match your exposed finished ends at the bottom of your upper cabinets.

Finished Tops at Upper Cabinets

Finished tops at upper cabinets are often desired uppers where you can see the tops of the cabinets from the stairs or loft.

Finished Tops at Base Cabinets

Cabinets such as desks, room dividers, bookcases and other horizontal surfaces may require matching face materials. Depending on case material we can match or coordinate with HPL, finished wood veneer, or melamine. Ask us for what we recommend for your project.

Finished Backs at Islands and Peninsulas

If there is no pony wall at the back of an island or peninsula in the kitchen design, Lanz provides finished ends and backs for a seamless look. Lanz does not provide plumbing chase for sink base cabinets at islands and peninsulas.

FLOATING SHELVES

Create a sleek and modern look with floating shelves. Without exposed corbels, the shelf appears to “float” on the wall with concealed metal brackets that attach to studs and / or wall blocking.

FLOATING (WALL-HUNG) VANITIES

OPTIONAL LIGHTING UNDER VANITY BY OTHERS

Add stylish, and less cluttered modern look and feel to your bathroom with a floating vanity. With a wall-mounted vanity, the flooring can extend to the wall, which instantly makes a bathroom appear more spacious. A floating vanity provides additional exterior storage space typically lost by the toe kick area of a traditionally built cabinet for more usable space for your favorite slippers or bathroom scale. Open access underneath the cabinets leaves dirt and germs fewer places to hide in the bathroom and can make cleaning up an easier task.

APPLIANCE CABINETS

24" Deep Over Refer Cabinet

Standard depth of cabinets over refrigerators is 12″. For a more accessible cabinet in this location, Lanz offers a 24″ deep option with a maximum width of 36″. Add refrigerator side panels for a more custom, built-in look.

Refrigerator side panels

Framing around the 24inch deep over-refrigerator cabinets provides a niche to conceal the sides of the refrigerator. Material is vertical grain direction and matches the case material. Interior surround material is dependent on cabinet finish selected. Maximum height is 95 ½”, standard depth is 24″ nominal.

Oven Cabinet

Lanz accommodates a variety of appliance packages from standard slide-in ranges, drop in cook tops, built-in wall ovens, and microwaves.

Appliance Face Panels

Lanz provides devorative appliance appliques for panel-ready refrigerators and dishwashers. A panel ready appliance allows a custom cover to be installed on the face or the front of the appliance that matches the rest of the cabinetry.

Dry completely before putting back in the drawer to avoid trapping moisture in the cabinet.
